Hkfiftyone is an exhilarating artist from the cloud rap scene. He produces his own beats using unique samples built upon dashing drums. he has collaborated with some the best within the soundcloud scene including 6obby. with a mash of sing rap over up beat and sometimes emotional beats. His music is blend of very different genres, Eletronic music to Emo. His lyrics brush on broken hearts and sad days. Check out his music below!
Another rapper who is active on soundcloud straight out Dallas Texas, he sounds like Ric Flair combined with Busta Rhymes on trap and sleepy beats. He is in a duo rap group with another rapper, yung daddy and they frequently release music together. His music ranges from shout music to get hyped too and sleepy chill rap just to chill too. But he said he sounds like a wrestling heel on a mic and that is what he usually sounds like!
Xanna khan is a rapper located in Dallas, Texas we talk about his music his style and what his plans are!
What are your main rap influences and why?
My main influences are Busdriver, Earl Sweatshirt, Robb Bank$ and Childish Gambino. See Busdriver is my all time favorite rapper. I remember when i first heard his song Imaginary Places on one of the tony hawk games and i was like "yo this dude is like nothing i ever heard before, forget these radio niggas who is this guy", dude is just unique and skilled as fuck like he makes very lyrical music that still also somehow manages to sound good. he does it all too he can sing produce and rap his ass off the man is like a god in the body of a LA hipster I wish i could make music like him.
if you've never listened to or even heard of him you gotta check out his album "Perfect Hair" its literally the best thing ever. Same case with Childish Gambino growing up i was into comics, gaming, and basically nerd shit and i remember listening to a lot of nerdcore rap and i found a song by Gambino called "The Awesome" because it had MC Chris a pretty prominent nerdcore rapper on it and just something in me clicked and i just related to Childish Gambino much like with Busdriver he wasnt the average hood black dude and to me hearing this nerdy dude rap i was blown away almost like how i was when i first heard Busdriver. but i've been following Childish Gambino's career from damn near day one the man is really good at everything he does he's a creative genius. Earl and Robb were the sound track to my high school years though like around the age of 16 i started rapping with a few of my friends and i wanted to rap just like Earl, like he's so close to my age yet that man is a monster when he raps, but Robb Bank$ though I related to him more then and now than I did Gambino when I first heard him in middle school. See much like me Robb is a nerd that grew up in the hood living with his mom while occasion visiting his more famous and financially well off dad. And he just rapped about street shit throwing in all kinds of pop culture references, Robb was really influential in helping me form my own style
So you're from Dallas, What is the scene in Dallas like at the moment?
The scene is on the rise you got people out here like Tay-K getting massive coverage from hip hop news sites and shit, and you also got people like G.U.N and The Outfit, TX doing songs with bigger artists like OG Maco and Larry June and I think The Outfit, TX even appeared on nojumper then you got groups like the pyrex pirates who open for a lot of acts that come and perform here its pretty lit out here.
What was it like growing up in Dallas Texas?
See i didn't grow up here, I just moved here like 2 years ago but I used to come out here and spend summer break with my aunt like damn near every year. Originally I'm from a town in Arkansas called Blytheville and i spent my teenage years in Osceola which is the next town over. That place is fucking terrible its like a warzone, like there aint shit to do out there but get in trouble and that place is all ways like a step or two behind the pop culture paradigm some how. Me and my friends that still live there refer to the little cluster of small towns as Hell, HFIL, and The Phantom Zone. Cause there aint any opportunities there and once you're there you're stuck unless you get lucky just like the phantom zone in dc comics like that place is to keep people in you pretty much go there to die there. its trash -10/10 would not recommend.
Sounds crazy haha what would you usually do in Osceola are there any cool spots at all to hang out?
back in Osceola me and my friends usually hung out our friend Reblee's place and over there we gamed, made youtube videos, watched anime and just really tried to sty out of trouble lol. But if me and my boy Nero was out we either A. did stupid nigga shit and rapped about it or B. we walked across town to either eat at taco bell, mcdonalds, satelites, or king wok. cause its a really small town there really are no cool hangout spots or anything to do for that matter if you want something to do you gotta drive either to memphis or jonesborro haha.
How would you describe your style?
Its funny cause at this point I sound lothing like my inspirations so I would say its as if you gave an anime villain or a wrestling heel a mic and told em make a song. Like yeah the hero great and all but nobody gives a fuck about the hero if he dont have a good villain, the villain makes the hero everyone loves the bad guy and i guess do to my sheer hubris and the fact that my most natural emotion is anger and anger and violence go hand in hand it makes my music sound like it could've come from a super villain of some sort.
How did the collabrate with Yung Daddy come about?
Shout out to that man Yung Daddy, but how that happened was I had recording a song called "Hayashi" and posted it on soundcloud then I went to the soundcloud thread on /mu/ on 4chan to post the link and when i did his post caught my eye cause he said he sounded like a german version of fat nick so i listened to is song and was like i fuck with this so i sent him a dm and then we talked for a bit he heard hayashi and was like we gotta make a song then one song turned into 4 then we decided to become a duo and call ourselves BestBois. but yeah i've never seen him in person i literally met that nigga on an anonymous image board haha.
Any run in with famous artists?
see i go to a lot of concerts so i end up randomly meeting the artists after the show sometimes. I've met Robb Bank$ twice, Ski Mask The Slump God, Denzel Curry, ilovemakonen, father, wifisfuneral, both members of $uicideBoy$, Killstation, Famous Dex, Pouya and some other folks im forgetting right now but most importantly i met the fucking legend himself Busdriver! meeting Bank$ and Busdriver may be two of the happiest moments in my life.
What did you say to Busdriver when you met him, how did the conversation go?
well i told him he was my all time favourite, my idol, and the best rapper ever then i asked him for advice. he was really chill and real humble he basically told me hone in on what makes me different from anyone else and use that to my advantage.
What are you favourite three tracks you have made?
see two of them aint even out yet but i would have to say "Kira Queen" because that song just hard as fuck me and yung daddy snapped on that one, "Xan Bernadino" cause its like a Tarantino movie but in song form , and "Diamonds & Rubies" because i like how the auto tune hit my voice on that one
What are you plans for the future? Any mixtapes coming out?
As far as the future man im just trying to get a few music videos done and grow my presence on the internet i wanna play some shows too. I actually got a bunch of projects coming out like I got a EP called Demon Got Me coming out in January its full of nothing but auto tune shit so its different from what people usually associate me with, then me and Yung Daddy got a BestBois mixtape coming out and that shit bout to be crazy and I i have another EP with all that hard shit on it but i dont know when i'll put that one out.
